Rumag is Cold Rolled non-Grain-Oriented Semi-Processed Steel,specially designed for Fractional and Low HorsePower Motor manufacturing.it comes in two major variants-- Unalloyed(Rumag) and Alloyed(Rumag-A).Within the two categories we produce stell in most internationally accepted specifications.We can also customise our products to specific requirements of customers,whenever our standard products do not suit the manufacturing requirements.

The Advantages of Unalloyed and Low-Silicon Alloyed Steels lay in the high degree of magnetisability of these steels.The high magnetic quality of these materials have considerably influenced the production of compact high performance electric machines

All the products are manufactured from selected grades of hot rolled steel coils specially processed for low watt loss applications and pass through stringent inspection and quality testing.

Rumag is supplied in full hard as well as in annealed condition to match the hardness as required by the customers.The full hard strip annealed and processed at our end,improves the electrical properties of the products significantly and reduces further annealing and processing cost at customer's end.

Rumag conforms to European standard EN 10126 and EN 10165.

Rumag A :

Rumag A is Special Grade Alloyed Non-Grain Oriented Cold Rolled Semi Processed Electrical Grade Steel. Rumag A is ideally suited for Stamping applications in manufacturing of Low to Medium horsepower motors and compressors.

Reference Condition: The magnetic properties (magnetic polarization and specific total loss) only apply to test specimens in the Reference condition which is obtained by the following heat treatment. Test strips shall be subjected to a heat treatment in a decarburising atmosphere at 7900( :tJO° ( and shall be maintained for 2 hrs at this temperature. The heating rate shall not exceed2000(/h. The cooling rate from 790° ( to 5500( shall not exceed 1200(/h. The gas necessary for decarburisation shall consist of 20 Vol.% H2, 80 Vol.% N2 with water vapour. the dew-point being + 35°( at atmosphere pressure. The establishment of the decarburising atmosphere requires the removal of air from the annealing furnace before raising the temperature. This removal is affected by continuously purging the furnace with an inert protective gas. The flow and pressure of the decarburising gas shall be regulated to ensure good decarburisation at any point on the test specirnen and a complete renewal of the atmosphere in the furnace several times during the heat treatment. It is desirable that the test strips do not have any contact with each other.
